Using Direct Injection (DI) technology, this engine atomizes diesel fuel at 26,000 psi directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder. This process enhances fuel efficiency, reduces emissions, and minimizes engine noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) for a more enjoyable and quieter boating experience.

Joystick Piloting for Inboards
Mercury’s joystick piloting system is the only system compatible with both gasoline and diesel inboard engines, including tow sport engines. It’s also the only joystick system designed for single-inboard boats, offering exceptional ease of control.

Lightweight Design
The engine block is constructed from Vermicular Graphite Casting (VGC), a material twice as strong as grey iron and 5-10% lighter. This results in a low-weight, high-strength structure with superior heat transfer for optimal cooling performance.
